The Department of Continuing
Education provides ongoing training for local businesses through a
series on business workshops such as marketing, customer service and
team building. We also offer both personal and professional development
classes, Windows XP and Office XP software training, Certified Nursing
Assistance training and a variety of leadership and soft skills training.
This summer we are glad to offer Destination Science Camps for children
ages 6-12. These camps are week long fun-filled exploration in to
the world of science held on our DeLand campus. We are offering three
different science programs including Extreme Battlebots, Raging Wet
Reaction Lab , and Hydro Galactic Rocket Mania.
Stetson University is proud to be a provider of Elderhostel programs
for over 20 years. We offer traditional programs on our DeLand campus
and oceanfront in Daytona Beach. We have a variety of Golf and Tennis
programs in Daytona Beach, a Lighthouse program and a Florida's First
Coast Historical program hosted in St. Augustine, A Chinese Theme
program in Orlando, or you can enjoy a week on a Equine Ranch in Weirsdale,
Florida. We even offer intergenerational programs in St. Augustine,
Orlando and Daytona Beach. We are offering a unique program in conjunction
with Walt Disney World® and the Disney Institute®. During
the week you will visit behind the scenes of Animal Kingdom, Disney
MGM Studios and Epcot® with Disney Cast members. You will attend
Cirque du Soleil one evening and return the next day to see how the
show is performed. On Thursday you will spend a full day exploring
the "Utilidor", the underground operations of Disney World.

Stetson University has partnered with The Academy to provide education
for Mortgage Brokers/Bankers. We prepare students for the state Mortgage
Broker Licensing exam and offer classes in "The Art of Processing",
"Loan Origination," and "Residential Loan Closing."
For twenty years, Stetson University has been hosting the Florida
Winters Pastors' School for pastors of all denominations. The school
not only provides pastoral learning but is an excellent time for fellowship
among men and women of faith.
Stetson University, in partnership with the DeLand Area Chamber of
Commerce, created Leadership DeLand. Today, twenty years later, we
have graduated over 350 future leaders of our community. This 12 week
program introduces current and future community and business leaders
and provides insight into the working of state and local municipalities,
local corporations, the education system and economic development.
To better prepare students for acceptance into different advanced
degree programs, we offer test preparatory classes for the LSAT and
MCAT. These classes are scheduled in the evening as not to interfere
in daytime classes.
Finally, the Department of Continuing Education provides a variety
of classes in religion, history, the arts, computers and others topics
for our local senior community. We make available space in all our
Elderhostel programs for commuters and provide speakers to local senior
centers.
